In this tutorial, Rimantas explains how to create an invisible Supervisor account on your Signal Magician system so that you alone have full control of every other account.
The idea of an invisible Supervisor account is to have control of every other account on the SM panel.
It is beneficial if you have a team of people working for you, and they all need an admin account to the SM panel.
As admins, they can cut other users off the system, but not the Supervisor account.
Admin accounts won’t even see that the Supervisor account exists, and you will have full control over all admin accounts.
Creating a Supervisor account
You can create a Supervisor account if you are logged in as an admin. No other user can create new users on the system.
On the left menu, go to the New User and choose Admin as a user type for the new user.
Login name for the Supervisor account must be exactly as seen in the picture above – supervisor.
SM system recognizes “supervisor” username as a Supervisor account even though its type is “Admin” like every other Administrator on the system.
Click on Create new user to continue.
When the system creates a supervisor account, it will redirect you to the User list.
But on the Users list, you will not see the supervisor account, nor you will be able to access it or edit it in any way as an admin.
Log out admin from the SM panel
Log into SM panel as a supervisor
In the upper left corner, SM shows who you have logged in as.
In this case, it is the Supervisor.
On the Users list, I can now see a supervisor password. If I log in as any other user, I won’t see it.
Now, I’ll create a list of IP addresses from which the admin can log in to this system.
I click on the admin username in the Users list.
Creating a list of trusted IP addresses
You can create the list of trusted IP addresses in the Login Security tab, which you can access through the user’s profile page as a supervisor.
You can also create such a list of trusted IP addresses for the supervisor account too. Just be careful not to cut yourself out from the system and include your current IP address.
You can see the system shows a current IP address for your convenience.
